I dropped the market because it was so clumsy and hard for people to remember. I was inspired, perhaps a little too late, by this principle from The Elements of Style: 5.21 Prefer the Standard to the Offbeat. And from 5.16 Be Clear. "...Muddiness is not merely a disturber of prose, it is a destroyer of life, of hope: death on the highway caused by a badly worded roadsign, heartbreak among lovers caused by a misplaced phrase in a well-intentioned letter, anguish of a traveler expecting to be met at a railroad station and not being met because of a slipshod telegram." A Font For Paul Chan
This free macintosh font diplays everything that you type as the NATO Phonetic Alphabet. This font was inspired by Paul Chan (because his work is inspiring) and very loosely by Claude Shannon. At the risk/inevitability of being presumptuous, I am making recommendations for work to be included into the oeuvre of other artists. For instance, I would like to see the new logo for Canary attributed to Scott King. And of course since I'm making such recommendations, I'm open to them. /letters_signs_etc permanent link
